This site supports PGP-signed comments.
PGP is a free program that can help protect your privacy and online identity. To understand what a PGP-signature is, please read about
Message Signatures in the comp.security.pgp FAQ. For information about PGP in general,
that FAQ is a good place to start.
To understand why I implented this feature and why I think it's important, please read
this post from my weblog.
Here's a brief guide to signing your comments with
PGP 8.
1. Type your comments as you normally would.
2. Find the PGP Tray icon in your taskbar.
Right-click the icon, choose "current window", then "sign".
3. Enter the passphrase for your key.
4. The signature will be added to your text. Then click "comment" to add your comment as usual.
That's it!
With signing you're taking a step toward securing your identity in this otherwise anonymous space. You'll also want to publish your public key somewhere at your website so people will be able to verify your signed comments. If you don't have a website, be sure your public key is available at a
Public Key Server.
If you have any questions about how this works, I'd be happy to help out.
Send me an email.
