snapGallery is a fast, easy way to create a quick web gallery of pictures. After you select a folder on your machine that contains images (.jpg files), this script generates a series of web pages to display them. By editing a few lines in the script, you can even customize the font, page colors, and add a link to your home page. When the pages are finished you can transfer the folder contents to your server and share your pictures with the world! The script is written for WSH (Windows Scripting Host) so there's nothing to install. Just extract the script anywhere and run by double clicking. Windows has a built-in system that will interpret the script and execute. What you'll find on this page:
Here are a bunch of my cat pictures I put together with snapGallery. I made this collection with snapGallery too. (It's some snapshots from 2001's South by Southwest conference.) You can find hundreds more with a Google search. I also have a few screenshots of the script in action: opening page, title/caption, gallery title, file name, final report.
This script works with Windows 98, NT, 2000, ME, or XP with Internet Explorer 4 or better installed.
snapGallery v1.5c
Win ME, NT, 2000, XP: snapGallery.zip
Win98: snapGallery98.zip
Download, unzip anywhere, and start it up! (to run: double-click as you would any program.)
Free (with a shareware option). If you feel like this script has helped you out, please consider donating a few dollars. You can use a credit card for a quick, secure donation through the PayPal link at the top-right of this page.
Scripts are easy to change. Make sure you get a copy from this site, and take a look at the source code before you run it. If something looks odd, don't run it. For this reason, I'm asking you to point to this page to share it, instead of sending out your own copy. It's just safe scripting.
